    The Federation of Uganda Soccer Associations (FUFA) has on Monday, sixteenth March launched the inaugural Academies League.

    The newly launched event was launched by FUFA President Eng. Moses Hassim Magogo on the Kadiba stadium.

    Magogo revealed that they may use the event to nurture and establish younger proficient gamers.

    “We lately launched the FUFA Technical Grasp Plan that appears at a participant in 4 folds. Mass Soccer the place everyone seems to be given an opportunity to play, Elite Soccer that appears at publicity of the proficient gamers, Skilled Soccer which focuses on the highest facet of a participant and Life After Soccer,” he began.

    The pilot League will begin with 20 academies coming from the areas of Buganda and Kampala with hope and projection of spreading it throughout the 8 areas of FUFA.

    The FUFA Academies League is a part of FIFA’s Expertise Growth Scheme, supporting youth soccer in Uganda. It targets Grade 2 and three academies (gamers born 2011-2012), specializing in talent growth and development. FUFA’s Technical Grasp Plan, backed by FIFA, contains the Expertise ID Framework to scout and nurture younger expertise nationwide.

    In accordance with FUFA, the eligibility standards embrace age restrictions and obligatory licensing. The inaugural FUFA Academies League will start on Sunday, twenty second March and can solely cater for gamers underneath the age of 15.

    In the meantime, the FUFA Govt Committee has appointed the Match Organising Committee (TOC) for the Academies League, with Barente Ronald as Chairman, Kiwanuka Roberts as Vice Chairman, and Kigongo Farouk, Rodrick Muhumuza.

    Former Nationwide group gamers Lwanga Ronald, Benjamin Ochan and Yasser Mugerwa will function members of the committee.

    The groups collaborating within the pilot FUFA Academies League have every obtained 10 Zakayo balls forward of the competitors kick-off on twenty second March 2026.
